We were asked by SZ Magazin to develop a design for an object that its readers can design on their own.

We approached the subject of DIY from a different angle: Our object does not consist of purchased or found materials, but makes use of the immediate environment: a hole in the wall as an increase in the volume of your own four walls and shelf space for everyday things. The only tool used is a hammer.

In times of material abundance, the question arises: shouldn't we rather transform our material stock instead of constructing something new? Our object takes a playful look at this question and is intended to encourage us to think about our surroundings.
